Pokémon GO as a Social Experiment, or, Is This the Catalyst for Thinning the Herd?

Pokémon GO is a pretty nifty concept in gaming. Augmented reality is cool and just about anything that gets people moving their body parts for fun is usually a good thing. I just can’t help but wonder when there’s going to be rallying cry to ban it. Ya know, because people are getting run over by cars, fights are breaking out, trespassers are trespassing in the wrong places, too many robberies, that sort of thing.

I dig fan art so I thought it would be fun to scour the internet for some of it and post it here. Art is always valuable and if a few choice keywords get wiparts.org some visits; awesome! Not long after I started looking I found this: http://www.dorkly.com/post/75222/amazing-fan-art-versions-of-every-gen-1-pokemon it’s not Pokémon GO specific, but it is a lovely collection of high-quality fan art. It’s almost all similarly styled, but it’s all quite good. The link I shared has links to each individual artist’s work. If you like it, ‘put a ring on it’ – most artists – hobbyist or pro – are usually interested in commission work. :)

This is one of my favorites…

P.S. While we’re on the subject of games, can we stop using the word “microtransaction”? “Micro” means ‘small’ and we’re well beyond that with in-game purchases these days.
